The (lost) prints

Every now and then I go and dig in my old Ilford boxes of prints, by the way they look so wonderful compared to the packaging nowadays, either looking for something or just by curiosity.

I have this time found 5 prints that I am happy to share with you.

I really miss the darkroom sometimes !

Another member of the Red Bull familly gone to early

Times are sad.

Last week I learned that a member of the Red Bull family was gone.

Guido Gehrmann, A German pilot, was killed after his plane crashed May 1 returning from an event in Tyrol.

I had met him on a couple of occasions back in 2005 and 2006. He was taking part to the Vertigo event in Villeneuve. He was an hang glider pilot a pretty good one as he was World Champion. But he was flying also helicopters, commercial aircrafts for Lufthansa and the private plane of his “Boss” at Red Bull. I am sure many other things too but I only found out about those.

As all the athletes I met through my 10 years shooting for Red Bull he was as passionate about his sport as friendly and helpful to full fill my many requests for special shooting. Providing his knowledge for setting a remote camera on the wing of his glider and setting the release cable.

Here is a gallery of those pictures, click on them to pass to the next one. On a couple he was playing in the sky with Swiss pilot Mathias Roten already gone in 2008.

Bokeh at the Alpine Skiing World Cup Finals in Lenzerheide

Last week I was covering together with my Berner colleague Pascal Lauener the Finals of the World Cup of ALpine Skiing int he ski resort of Lenzerheide in Graubünden.

I thought it would be a good opportunity to experiment further in the Bokeh during my work for Reuters. Unfortunately out the 5 days of racing we only had a few hours of sun. Not the best conditions to create some lights bulbs. Nevertheless I am satisfied with what I brought back. Do not hesitate to leave your comment.
