Born in 1972 in Lausanne in Switzerland Denis Balibouse began self-taught photography in 1987 with regular collaborations for local newspapers
From September 1991 to April 2002 he worked as a photographer-reporter at the Agence ARC in Lausanne directed by Jean-Bernard Sieber
His work was publsihed in Swiss dailies and weeklies such as: 24 Heures, Le Matin, Le Temps, Dimanche.ch, Le Blick, Tages Anzeiger, L'Hebdo, La Liberte and Construire as well as covering local events. and international for the international agency REUTERS
During this period, he covered local, regional and international news, both political, sporting and cultural
In November 2000 he won, with a series of 7 images, the Swiss Press Photo competition in the "Sport and Leisure" category
September 2001 sees the publication, on account of the authors, of the work "weather report" as well as the exhibition of the same name at the Black and White gallery in Lutry, the 2 events cover a work, in black and white, nearly 10 years on landscapes in Scotland, Ireland and Wales
In May 2002, he began working as a freelance photographer, notably for Reuters in Geneva and with the lemonade company Red-Bull for photographic coverage of sporting events and athletes shooting organized in Switzerland and Europe
In 2007 he joined Reuters as a staff in Geneva covering sport, politics and economy
Since a few years he has followed the need for video content and has provided stories covered on both mediums
